Soccer Recap: Goleman Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Goleman can now relate to. They came up short against the Doral Academy Firebirds on Thursday, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Gators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 353rd, while the Firebirds are ranked 58th).

Goleman has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11-2 record this season. As for Doral Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6-3 record this season.

Goleman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Doral Academy, they will square off against Cypress Bay at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Cypress Bay is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3 goals per game this season.
