Baseball Recap: Lynchburg-Clay Starts Season with Win Against Clinton-Massie

Lynchburg-Clay took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Clinton-Massie Falcons as Lynchburg-Clay made off with a 10-0 win. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 6-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Cole Wells was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over 4.2 innings pitched. Wells was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Lynchburg-Clay let Josiah Burns and Cody Bell run wild. Burns scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Bell scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Lynchburg-Clay will have a chance to go back-to-back against Clinton-Massie: the pair will be back at it again later today.
