Basketball Recap: Westtown's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

If Westtown was riding high fresh off their 73-43 takedown of Abington Friends last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Westtown took a 62-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Friends' Central on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Westtown came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while Friends' Central is ranked 213th).

Friends' Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Pat Feamster out in front who went 8 for 12 on his way to 23 points and six rebounds. Gabe Moore was another key player, going 5 of 12 on his way to 19 points and seven rebounds.

With the defeat, Westtown broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-1. As for Friends' Central, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-6.

Westtown wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-44 victory against Peddie on the 19th. As for Friends' Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-44 loss against Sanford on the 14th.
