Basketball Game Preview: Sumter Gamecocks vs. Ridge View Blazers

Sumter is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Ridge View is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Sumter Gamecocks will host the Ridge View Blazers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Sumter is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Blythewood on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Sumter came up short against Blythewood, falling 68-44. The Gamecocks were down 58-27 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, Ridge View faced Blythewood in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Ridge View walked away with a 64-52 win over Blythewood.

Ridge View is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.9 points over those games. As for Sumter, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-11.
