Basketball Game Preview: Weatherford Eagles vs. Kingfisher Yellowjackets

Weatherford and Kingfisher are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Weatherford Eagles will be playing at home against the Kingfisher Yellowjackets at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Friday, Weatherford didn't have quite enough to beat Newcastle and fell 55-52.

Meanwhile, Kingfisher came tearing into Friday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 64-48 win over the Cyclones. Given the Yellowjackets' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Cyclones are ranked 162nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kingfisher is also on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Weatherford, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7.
