Soccer Recap: Point Loma Comes Up Short

Point Loma's game on Tuesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They came up short against the St. Augustine Saints, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, the Pointers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 301st, while the Saints are ranked 30th).

Point Loma has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6-2 record this season. As for St. Augustine, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Point Loma has already played their next contest (against Scripps Ranch), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. St. Augustine will face off against San Diego at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. San Diego's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
