Softball Recap: Aurora Wins Going Away Against Adams Central

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Crete, Aurora was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They put the hurt on the Adams Central Patriots with a sharp 11-1 victory. With that win, the Huskies brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Josie Fink looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ashlyn Kottwitz, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Londyn Teahon was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Aurora lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least two home runs in three consecutive matches.

Aurora now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Adams Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Aurora will square off against Northwest at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Huskies surely won't give up without a fight. As for Adams Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Crete at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
