It was a proper cat-fight when Arcata duked it out with McKinleyville on Thursday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Panthers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Arcata took every set by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-13, 25-11.

Nora Brumbaugh paced Arcata's offense, picking up ten kills. Brumbaugh got some help from Harper Appy and her 25 assists. Appy also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Josie Cunningham, each putting up two.

Arcata's victory bumped their record up to 20-10. As for McKinleyville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

Arcata does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for McKinleyville, they will take on Fortuna at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
