Basketball Recap: ROWVA/Williamsfield Takes a Loss

ROWVA/Williamsfield was the 44-40 winner over Stark County when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The ROWVA/Williamsfield Cougars fell 62-50 to the Stark County Rebels on Wednesday. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Stark County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emily Demetreon led the charge by going 5 of 10 en route to 19 points. The dominant performance also gave Demetreon a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Coley Johnston, who went 7 for 13 on her way to 17 points along with five rebounds and five steals.

ROWVA/Williamsfield's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Stark County, their win bumped their record up to 10-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. ROWVA/Williamsfield will welcome Abingdon/Avon at 1:00 p.m. on January 25th. As for Stark County, they will challenge Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
