Baseball Recap: Somerset Gets the Win

Somerset won the last time they faced Casey County and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Briar Jumpers walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Rebels. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Briar Jumpers.

Kole Grundy was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and five RBI.

In other batting news, Somerset let Connor Roberts and Gunner Strunk run wild. Roberts got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base, while Strunk went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most hits Strunk has posted over his last nine contests.

Somerset's win bumped their record up to 11-17. As for Casey County, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-21.

Somerset will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Rebels: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
