Soccer Game Preview: Stone vs. South Jones

The Stone Tomcats will square off against the South Jones Braves on Saturday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Stone is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let Brookhaven onto the board and left with a 3-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Tomcats as they're now sitting on three straight.

Meanwhile, South Jones hasn't lost a match since November 21, 2024, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Wayne County with a sharp 7-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Braves, who have now won eight matchups by five goals or more so far this season.

Stone is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 31 goals over those nine games. As for South Jones, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3-4.
