Recap: Homefires Flames vs. First Baptist Christian
While the Homefires Flames couldn't quite beat First Baptist Christian on Saturday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 36-point loss they were dealt on Saturday. Homefires fell just short of First Baptist Christian by a score of 58-55. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Homefires has suffered yet this season.
Despite the loss, Homefires still got an impressive performance from Colin Chesnut, who scored 31 points. That was a full 56.4% of Homefires' points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Reagan Rademacher, who scored 12 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Homefires and nudges their season record down to 3-6. As for First Baptist Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Homefires will head out on the road to challenge Illinois Central Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. First Baptist Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
