Football Recap: Mishawaka Marian Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Mishawaka Marian and Knox squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Mishawaka Marian had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Redskins and fell 48-18. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-6.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Terrel Lane, who picked up 129 receiving yards and one TD. Lane really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 96 yards. Lucas Marr was another key signal caller, throwing for 133 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Myles McLaughlin was his usual excellent self, rushing for 383 yards and six scores while picking up 8.3 yards per carry for Knox. McLaughlin's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 25th straight game with at least 121 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Mishawaka Marian has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Knox, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.

Mishawaka Marian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Knox, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 28-21 win against Angola on the 14th.
