Volleyball Recap: Bayview Christian Falls to Granite Baptist Academy in First Game of Season

Bayview Christian unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Granite Baptist Academy Guardians by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Seahawks were not able to make up for their loss to the Guardians from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Bayview Christian sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-12, 26-28, 25-17, 18-25, 15-11.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Granite Baptist Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mobolaji Akosile, who had eight kills, eight aces, and five digs. Akosile is crushing it when it comes to aces: she's served at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Charity Friend was another key player, getting ten digs and eight aces.

Granite Baptist Academy's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

Bayview Christian has already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Calvary Baptist on the 8th. As for Granite Baptist Academy, they will head out to challenge Milford Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
