Basketball Recap: Wapato Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Wapato won the last time they faced Wahluke and things went their way on Friday too. The Wapato Wolves came out on top against the Wahluke Warriors by a score of 63-50. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Warriors are ranked 201st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wapato's victory bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Wahluke, they dropped their record down to 7-12 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Wapato and Cashmere will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday. Wapato knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 games -- so hopefully Cashmere likes a good challenge. Wahluke has already played their next matchup (against Connell), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
