Clairemont lost to Patrick Henry back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, the Chieftains made off with a 13-12 win over the Patriots. That's two games straight that the Chieftains have won by just one point.

A big part of Clairemont's victory came down to the chemistry between Abby Mora and her top target Kacey Otterman. Mora threw for 263 yards and a pair of touchdowns while Otterman picked up 84 receiving yards and one TD. Those 84 receiving yards gave Otterman a new career-high.

Clairemont didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Otterman and Camryn Walton.

Clairemont pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.0 points on average over those games. As for Patrick Henry, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-4 record.

Coming up, Clairemont will face off against Point Loma at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Patrick Henry, they will square off against Academy of Our Lady of Peace at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
