Softball Recap: Greenback Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Greenback had won four straight at home, but on Tuesday they bumped their record up to 8-7 to make it five. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Oakdale Eagles. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 4-3 win back in April.

Kendi Brooks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on seven hits and racked up 14 Ks. Those 14 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Elizabeth Davis was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

As for Oakdale, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 16-3 record. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Oakdale's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rilee Goodson, who went 2-for-4 with one triple. That triple marked the first that Goodson has hit this season.

As of now, neither Greenback nor Oakdale have any future games scheduled.
