Volleyball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Stansbury

Stansbury took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Sky View, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Stallions had just enough and edged out the Bobcats 3-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Stallions, who have now won four contests in a row.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Stansbury who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 17-25, 25-21, 17-25, 15-13.

Stansbury found their leader in sophomore Mckaslyn Major, who had 13 digs.

Sky View's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Brynn Spackman, who had 39 digs and five assists, and Abby Thatcher, who had 24 digs and four aces. Spackman is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 22 or more in each of the last three games she's played. Hadlie Falslev also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Stansbury's win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Sky View, they dropped their record down to 10-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Coincidentally, Stansbury and Sky View will both be playing Ridgeline the next time they take the court. The Bobcats will host the Riverhawks at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Stallions will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
