Basketball Recap: Kearney Takes a Loss

If Kearney was feeling good fresh off their 64-23 takedown of Truman last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Kearney Bulldogs took a hard 36-21 fall against the St. Teresa's Academy Stars on Monday. The matchup marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Kearney still got an impressive performance from Maggie Lakin, who posted seven points. Another player making a difference was Jocelyn Lincoln, who had no points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Teresa's Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nora Roddy, who scored nine points and six boards. Roddy has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Lauren Rando was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Kearney has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for St. Teresa's Academy, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-3 record.

Kearney has already played their next contest, a 50-27 loss against Liberty on the 15th. As for St. Teresa's Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 45-36 win against Lafayette on the 15th.
