Softball Recap: Sweetwater's Run of Five Straight Wins Now Over

Sweetwater dropped their record down to 20-4 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Roane County Yellowjackets by a score of 3-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Sadie Scott was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Scott wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Chesney Isbill, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

As for Roane County, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-2. The win continues a trend for them in their matchups with Sweetwater: they've now won seven in a row.

On Roane County's side, Sailor Presley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up 12 Ks.

As of now, neither Sweetwater nor the Yellowjackets have any future games scheduled.
