Basketball Recap: Valley Christian Drops Highest Score of Season Against Stephens

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Valley Christian). They came out on top against the Stephens Roadrunners by a score of 60-48 on Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the River Hawks with their most commanding win of the season.

Valley Christian was led to victory by Cole Rambo and David Brewer. Rambo dropped a double-double with 21 points and 11 boards, while Brewer posted 19 points and three steals. Brewer continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Levi Guthrie, who scored eight points and ten rebounds.

Valley Christian has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-4 record this season. As for Stephens, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Valley Christian will square off against Faulkner County HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The River Hawks will need to watch out since the Falcons have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Stephens, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Legacy Academy at 7:15 p.m. on December 9.
