The Palmer Bulldogs will challenge the Azle Hornets at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Palmer is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.8 runs per game this season.

Azle's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Saturday: Palmer hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. Palmer's pitcher stepped up to hand UME Preparatory Academy a 9-0 shutout on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won three matches by nine runs or more so far this season.

Kenli Dobie was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaylee Adams, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. She also put up a double, which washer first of the season. Peyton Yates was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Palmer hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in three consecutive contests.

Azle never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Joshua last Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Owls, sneaking past 12-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hornets have posted since March 2, 2024.

Palmer's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Azle, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
