Basketball Recap: Jefferson Takes a Loss

Jefferson lost against Huron back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Jefferson Bears took a 50-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Huron Chiefs. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 335th, while the Chiefs are ranked 98th).

Jefferson has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Huron, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jefferson will face off against Grosse Ile at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Jefferson is facing Grosse Ile at the right time seeing as Grosse Ile is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Huron has already played their next matchup (against Flat Rock), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
