Basketball Recap: Austin Takes a Loss

Austin suffered their closest defeat since February 9th on Tuesday. They fell just short of the St. Stephen's Episcopal Spartans by a score of 48-45. The Maroons were probably out for revenge after losing 54-48 to them when the teams met back in November of 2015, then they'll just have to keep looking.

This is the second loss in a row for Austin and nudges their season record down to 5-10. As for St. Stephen's Episcopal, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-5 record.

Austin and St. Stephen's Episcopal could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Austin (ranked 690th) will meet Westlake (ranked 100th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, St. Stephen's Episcopal (ranked 830th) will meet Texas Lions HomeSchool (ranked 72nd) at 12:15 p.m. on Friday.
