Rondout Valley proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 27) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Spackenkill Spartans 45-42. This was a revenge game for the Ganders: when they faced off against the Spartans back in January, they had to take a 50-34 defeat.

Spackenkill's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Maryclare Parker-Stark, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 13 points and eight rebounds, and Juliana Fernandes, who posted 13 points. Those 13 points gave Fernandes a new career-high.

Rondout Valley's victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Spackenkill, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.

Rondout Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 31-23 win against Millbrook on the 19th. As for Spackenkill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 52-47 defeat against Red Hook on the 20th.
