Lakeville North came tearing into Saturday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 points), and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past the Owatonna Huskies with points to spare, taking the game 80-61. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while the Huskies are ranked 112th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lakeville North pushed their record up to 19-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.0 points over those games. As for Owatonna, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-16.

Coming up, Lakeville North will venture away from home to face off against John Marshall at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. John Marshall knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 matches -- so hopefully Lakeville North likes a good challenge.
