With a playoff win on the line, Monarch rose to the challenge on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Deerfield Beach Bucks a 2-0 shutout. The win was familiar territory for the Knights who have now won three contests in a row.

Tony Dos Santos and Brandon Amaral scored both of Monarch's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

The victory got Monarch back to even at 11-11-3. As for Deerfield Beach, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7-2.

Monarch will face off against South Broward at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Broward will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something Monarch surely won't give up without a fight. Deerfield Beach does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
