Basketball Recap: Sequatchie County Comes Up Short

Sequatchie County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 66-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Howard Tech Hustlin' Tigers. The Indians were not able to make up for their loss to the Hustlin' Tigers from their previous meeting back in November of 2023.

Despite the loss, Sequatchie County still got an impressive performance from Beckham McKendrick, who went 7 for 15 en route to 17 points in addition to six assists and five boards. The match was McKendrick's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Ryker Terry was another key player, putting up nine points and five rebounds.

Sequatchie County now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Howard Tech, their win ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-17.

Sequatchie County has already played their next game (against Grundy County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Howard Tech will look to defend their home court on Monday against McMinn County at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Howard Tech's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
