Baseball Recap: Cape Henry Collegiate Dolphins vs. TEACH Homeschool Beach Breakers
Cape Henry Collegiate gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the TEACH Homeschool Beach Breakers with a sharp 10-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Dolphins also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.
Trajan Taylor looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Chris Martinez and Reid Downs did most of the damage at the plate: Martinez scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 4-for-4, while Downs scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4. Cape Henry Collegiate always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as TEACH Homeschool only posted an OBP of .150.
TEACH Homeschool's loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cape Henry Collegiate will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Greenbrier Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for TEACH Homeschool, they will venture away from home to face off against Walsingham Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
