Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Stockton

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against East Dubuque, Stockton was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Easton Valley 57-54. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Blackhawks' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 626th in Illinois, while Easton Valley are ranked 310th in Iowa).

Stockton's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Easton Valley, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Stockton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 62-43 loss against Scales Mound on the 23rd. Easton Valley has also already played their next contest, a 62-35 victory against Midland on the 21st.
