Softball Recap: Friday's Win Is Mandeville's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Mandeville won the last time they faced De La Salle and things went their way on Friday too. The Skippers blew past the Cavalier 15-7. The result was nothing new for the Skippers, who have now won ten contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Corinne Stein looked comfortable as she tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.

At the plate, Mia Graefenstein was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Caroline Thornhill, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base.

Mandeville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .522. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Mandeville is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for De La Salle, they dropped their record down to 10-12 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mandeville will venture away from home to square off against Pope John Paul II at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. As for De La Salle, they will head out to take on Academy of Our Lady at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
