Baseball Recap: East Mecklenburg Takes a Loss

East Mecklenburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against the Providence Panthers, falling 16-5. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 7-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

East Mecklenburg saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabriel Johnson, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs. Another was Liam Parsons, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

East Mecklenburg's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Providence, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 17-5.

Coming up, Providence will welcome Cox Mill at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. East Mecklenburg will be paying especially close attention to the Panthers' matchup: after the Panthers face off against the Chargers, they'll take on East Mecklenburg again at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
