Baseball Recap: North Newton Takes a Loss

North Newton lost against Lowell back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Spartans came up short against the Red Devils, falling 13-3.

Korbyn Haberlin was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. North Newton is 4-1 when Haberlin posts two or more stolen bases, but 6-14 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Bijak, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

North Newton's loss dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Lowell, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-15-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Newton will take on Twin Lakes at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Indians will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lowell, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wheeler at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
