The Kiel Raiders will challenge the Port Washington Pirates at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Kiel is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.7 runs per game this season.

Kiel took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They never let New Holstein get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Raiders considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Not much got past Cade Voelker, who gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks to keep New Holstein off the board. Voelker has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Owen Schmit was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double.

Kiel was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Holstein only posted a batting average of .190.

Meanwhile, Port Washington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 8-3 to Nicolet.

Sam Hoeft made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

Port Washington's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Kiel, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Kiel has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Port Washington struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
