Basketball Game Preview: Parkland Mustangs vs. Mount Tabor Spartans

Parkland is 0-10 against Mount Tabor since January of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Parkland Mustangs will square off against the Mount Tabor Spartans at 7:30 p.m. Parkland will be strutting in after a win while Mount Tabor will be coming in after a loss.

Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Parkland beat Glenn 55-49. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Bobcats: they've now won four in a row.

It was another big night for Brock Jackson, who posted 32 points. Parkland is 2-1 when Jackson posts 25 or more points, but 5-15 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamir Barrett, who put up nine points.

Meanwhile, Mount Tabor faced West Forsyth in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Mount Tabor took a hard 58-41 fall against West Forsyth.

Parkland's win bumped their record up to 7-16. As for Mount Tabor, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-5.

Parkland was dealt a bruising 79-41 loss at the hands of Mount Tabor in their previous matchup on Tuesday. Can Parkland avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
