Football Recap: Northside - Pinetown Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Northside - Pinetown had won five straight at home, but on Friday they bumped up to 8-0 to make it six. They walked away with a 44-33 victory over the East Carteret Mariners. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 35-27 win the Mariners walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Sincere Columbus continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 155 yards and three touchdowns. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 106.2 rushing yards per game. Malachi Moore was another key rusher, rushing for 115 yards and one score on only 11 carries.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Northside - Pinetown proved: they limited East Carteret to a paltry 3.1 yards per carry. As for East Carteret, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-5. Their defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Loss or not, East Carteret got some senior leadership from Jackson Greene and Luke McIntosh. Greene picked up 219 receiving yards and three TDs, while McIntosh threw for 267 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.7 yards per attempt. Those 219 receiving yards set a new season-high mark for Greene.
