Baseball Recap: Tunkhannock Comes Up Short

Tunkhannock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Sunday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 6-1 to the Valley View Cougars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 11-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Tunkhannock saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colin Gregory, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Tunkhannock's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Valley View, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.

Tunkhannock and Valley View could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Tigers will challenge Holy Redeemer at 4:15 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (631 vs. 168). Meanwhile, Valley View (ranked 480th) will meet Abington Heights (ranked 21st) at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
