Softball Recap: Mountain Brook Gets the Win

Mountain Brook proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by nine) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Pike Road Patriots 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Spartans have posted since February 13, 2025.

The team relied heavily on Molly Shea, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Anne Turner Goldman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Mountain Brook's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Pike Road, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-4.

Mountain Brook does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pike Road, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-6 win against Southside on the 6th.
