Baseball Recap: Weiser Wins Going Away Against Parma

Weiser won against McCall-Donnelly last Wednesday with 17 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Wolverines put the hurt on the Parma Panthers with a sharp 17-7 win. Considering the Wolverines have won four contests by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Wyatt Black, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-6. He also hit two doubles, marking his first of the season. Kaghen Cluff was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Black wasn't the only one making solid contact: Weiser kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Weiser has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-6-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Parma, they dropped their record down to 4-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Weiser will face off against Fruitland at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Grizzlies will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something the Wolverines surely won't give up without a fight. As for Parma, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-6 loss against Homedale on the 5th.
