Basketball Game Preview: Wolfe County Wolves vs. Perry County Central Commodores

Wolfe County is 1-9 against Perry County Central since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Wolves will take on the Commodores at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Wolfe County took a 41-point defeat the last time they faced off against Powell County, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wolves skirted past the Pirates 69-66. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolves.

Meanwhile, Perry County Central strolled past Floyd Central with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 64-46. The win continues a trend for the Commodores in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now won five in a row.

Perry County Central's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Wolfe County, their win bumped their record up to an identical 9-6.

Wolfe County was dealt a bruising 78-43 loss at the hands of Perry County Central in their previous matchup back in January of 2025. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
