Basketball Recap: Faith Baptist School's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Faith Baptist School had lost five straight headed into Friday's contest, but Devin Culbertson didn't let it get to six. The Faith Baptist School Falcons had just enough and edged the Fairwinds Christian Knights out 42-39 thanks in part to Culbertson, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Faith Baptist School's points.

Another player making a difference was Bryce Binkley, who posted seven points and 15 boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rebounds.

Despite the loss, Fairwinds Christian still got an impressive performance from Daniel Evans, who went 7 for 16 on his way to 20 points.

Faith Baptist School's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Fairwinds Christian, they dropped their record down to 0-12 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Faith Baptist School will venture away from home to face off against Calvary Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fairwinds Christian, they will square off against Towle Institute at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
