Heartland III recap September 17, 2013

Dakota Nixon of Muncy ran for the longest rushing play in Heartland III this season against Montgomery last week. Nixon ran for 55 yards on the play and finished with 90 on the day as his team defeated the Red Raiders.

Southern Columbia Area moved up to 43 from 75 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Tigers were able to make move up by beating Mount Carmel 45-7.

Anthony Barberio and Nixon gave Muncy a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Teammate Teddy Clark added to the ground attack by rushing for 61 yards.

Barberio and Nixon gave Jay Drumheller's team a balanced attack through the air and ground last week.

Barberio put up the best numbers through the air as the Indians bested Montgomery. He finished with a total of 8 completions for 107 yards and 2 touchdowns. Barberio's favorite target this week was Ken Koch, who caught 3 passes for 71 yards.

Nixon was the most successful running back in the league this week.

Ricky Klingerman provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Bloomsburg defeated Warrior Run. He completed 20 passes for 223 yards and also ran for 88 yards. Klingerman's favorite target this week was Colby Klingerman, who caught 7 passes for 100 yards.

Klingerman was the best wideout in Heartland III this week as the Panthers topped the Defenders. Evan Ball helped Bloomsburg's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 58 yards.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Southern Columbia Area takes on second place South Williamsport.

Southern Columbia Area took down the RED TORNADOES 45-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
