Basketball Recap: Mount Airy Drops Highest Score of Season Against South Stokes

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mount Airy). They came out on top against the South Stokes Sauras by a score of 55-47 on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Granite Bears: when they faced off against the Sauras back in January, they had to take a 52-45 defeat.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mount Airy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jalaya Revels, who went 8 for 15 on her way to 20 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Revels a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Da'Nya Mills, who posted five points along with 15 boards and three steals.

The win was the fifth in a row for Mount Airy, bringing their record for this year to 6-10. As for South Stokes, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.

Mount Airy has already played their next matchup, a 45-36 loss against North Surry on the 29th. As for South Stokes, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-48 defeat against East Surry on the 29th.
