Softball Recap: Willard Comes Up Short

After soaring to 13 runs the game before, Willard was a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They came up short against the Elmwood Royals, falling 11-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Crimson Flashes have suffered since May 5, 2025.

Willard now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Elmwood, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 20-6.

Coming up, Willard will welcome Vermilion at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Sailors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.09 runs per game on average), something the Crimson Flashes will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Elmwood, they will square off against Mohawk at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Royals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 11 runs per game this season.
