League recap: Hahn dominating on the mound for Amory

4A Region 1 league recap: 3/20/13

4A Region 1's top pitcher this week was Amory's Destin Hahn. He won two games and retired 21 batters.

Tanner Poole was the hottest hitter in the league this week, racking up a .450 average, two home runs and seven RBIs. The Panthers went 4-1.

Pontotoc's pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only 18 hits and 15 walks, both of which led the league.

Amory scored 36 runs this week to lead the league, but the Warriors are tops in runs scored this year, with 85.

After picking up two wins and 21 strikeouts this week, Hahn now leads the league in both categories.

The league boasted four .400 hitters over the past week. Leading the pack was Ryan Watts, who hit .500 by going 7-for-14.



The Panthers' Hahn struck out 13 Tishomingo County hitters en route to a 7-0 victory on March 19. Over his six innings pitched he allowed zero runs on two hits.

Poole was an RBI machine on Friday, as he knocked in four runs during Amory's 15-5 win over North Pontotoc. He went 3-for-5 and scored three runs.
