Basketball Recap: Green Valley Beats Durango for Their Second Straight Win

Green Valley won the last time they faced Durango, and Sabbra Shirley did her part to make sure it happened again. The Green Valley Gators snuck past the Durango Trailblazers with a 36-30 win on Thursday thanks in part to Shirley, who posted ten points. What's more, she also racked up two steals, the most she's had since back in December of 2024.

The victory made it two in a row for Green Valley and bumps their season record up to 7-17. As for Durango, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 18 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Green Valley will head out to take on Silverado at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Green Valley is facing Silverado at the right time seeing as Silverado is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Durango, they will face off against Sunrise Mountain at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Durango will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: Sunrise Mountain will have lost five straight heading into Monday's matchup.
