Softball Recap: Southern Door's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Southern Door had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Peshtigo Bulldogs, sneaking past 3-1. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Alanah Kaye spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up 11 Ks.

On the hitting side, Southern Door's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Reese Vogel, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Alanna Paye also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Southern Door's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Peshtigo, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

Southern Door will be playing at home against Sturgeon Bay at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Peshtigo, they are taking a road trip to face off against Gibraltar at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
