Baseball Recap: American Heritage Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but American Heritage had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Coral Springs Charter Panthers. This was a revenge game for the Stallions: when they faced off against the Panthers back in March, they had to take a 6-4 defeat.

American Heritage got a great performance from Noah Garfinkel as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Garfinkel also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Stallions are 8-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-8 otherwise.

On the hitting side, American Heritage saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Fernandez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Fernandez has posted since back in March. Another was Lucas Shahrabani, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

American Heritage is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Coral Springs Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 10-13.

Looking ahead, American Heritage will square off against North Broward Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Stallions 3.8, the Eagles 3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Coral Springs Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
