Recap: Luther Prep Phoenix vs. Heritage Christian Patriots
The Luther Prep Phoenix suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They were dealt a 81-53 defeat at the hands of Heritage Christian. Luther Prep has not had much luck with Heritage Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
It was another big night for Mike Bowen Jr., who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals for Heritage Christian. Bowen Jr. has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Desmond Jones, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Luther Prep dropped their record down to 6-6 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Heritage Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Luther Prep will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Kenosha Christian Life at 7:15 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Kenosha Christian Life focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 32 last Thursday. As for Heritage Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge Kingdom Prep Lutheran at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
