Softball Recap: East Longmeadow Takes a Loss

East Longmeadow has relied on a stalwart pitcher averaging 4.05 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They came up short against the Westfield Bombers, falling 15-5. The Spartans have struggled against the Bombers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Sophia Baughn was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

East Longmeadow's loss dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Westfield, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-6.

East Longmeadow didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-6 defeat against Somerset Berkley Regional on the 2nd. As for Westfield, they have also already played their next contest, a 12-0 victory against Westport on the 1st.
